How Eriksen Returned To Denmark National Team

Christian Eriksen is set for an emotional return to the Denmark side after he was named in their squad for the first time since his cardiac arrest.

Eriksen has not played for his country since collapsing on the pitch during Denmark's Euro 2020 match against Finland at Parken Stadium in Copenhagen in June.

His place in the 23-man squad for March friendlies against the Netherlands and Serbia continues a smooth return to the professional game and is a reward for his impressive start at Brentford.

Denmark face the Netherlands in Amsterdam on March 26 and Eriksen is set to return to Parken three days later for the Serbia game, on what promises to be a stirring occasion for the entire country.

Despite eight months out of the game, Eriksen, who joined the Bees on a free transfer in January, has already made huge strides towards proving his fitness, playing 90 minutes in the last two matches and helping Thomas Frank’s side to wins over relegation rivals Norwich and Burnley.
