Residents of Peace Highland Community in Arimoro, Ilesa West Local Government Area of Osun State, have received a major boost in electricity supply following the donation and energisation of a 500KVA transformer facilitated by Senator Adenigba Francis Fadahunsi, representing Osun East Senatorial District.
The intervention, according to the senator, is part of efforts to improve the living conditions of constituents, support local economic activities and expand access to basic infrastructure across Osun East.
Speaking at the community, the senator’s Head of Media and Public Enlightenment, Mr Omole Olusegun Omo-Osodi, who represented Fadahunsi, said the intervention was a response to the community’s needs and its continued support for development initiatives.
Omole congratulated residents on the energisation of the transformer and urged them to take ownership of the facility by protecting it against damage and vandalism.
He said, “On behalf of my principal, Distinguished Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, OFR, I congratulate the people of Peace Highland Community for their patience and commitment to good governance.
“Your trust in Senator Fadahunsi has paid off and will continue to pay off. Today, the 500KVA transformer has been energised for your use. Protect it and guard it as you would your personal property.”
He further urged residents to ensure the sustainability of the project by cooperating with relevant electricity authorities and protecting the equipment from vandalism.
The senator’s representative also appealed to residents to participate actively in the electoral process, saying the community would have another opportunity to decide its preferred candidates at the January 16, 2027 election.
Omole said, “I urge you all to come out in your numbers on January 16, 2027, and exercise your franchise by voting for the candidates of your choice.”
He, however, specifically appealed to the residents to support the APC candidates, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Fadahunsi and Hon. Emmanuel Olusanya Omirin, for what he described as continuity.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Peace Highland Community, Comrade Olatunde Sunday Fatunbarin, expressed appreciation to Senator Fadahunsi for the intervention.
Fatunbarin described the provision and energisation of the transformer as an important development for the community, noting that reliable electricity would contribute to the wellbeing of residents and support businesses and other economic activities.
The community leader commended the senator for responding to the electricity needs of the area and pledged the community’s commitment to protecting the facility.
The Peace Highland project forms part of a wider list of electricity interventions attributed to Senator Fadahunsi across Osun East, with Peace Highland Community listed among beneficiary communities in Ilesa West.
